Unleash The Beast

About The Show

The PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) elite Unleash The Beast tour (UTB), featuring the top 35 bull riders on the globe and rankest bucking bulls ever bred, storms Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the 21st consecutive year.

As one of the sport’s marquee events, the Express Ranches Invitational will buck into Chesapeake Energy Arena with back-to-back days of heart pounding action. Round 1 begins at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, January 31st, and the early-season event concludes with Round 2 and the championship round, starting at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, February 1. All 35 bull riders will attempt one bull in each Round 1 and 2, on Saturday night the rider’s individual two-round scores will be totaled, with the Top 15 advancing to the championship round for one more out and a chance at the $30,000 event title.

The 2019 edition of the annual Sooner State event was dominated by native Oklahoman Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Oklahoma), who went a perfect 3-for-3 to hoist his first UTB buckle of the 2019 season. The three-ride trip to the top of the Can-Am Cage was highlighted by a 91-point ride aboard Big Black (K-C Bucking Bulls/Joe & Nina Webb) in the championship round. The win padded Dirteater’s pocket with $39,361 and added 600 world points to his 2019 world championship efforts.

Past riders to capture the buckle in one of the most popular long-standing stops on the circuit include: Matt Triplett (2015), Sean Willingham (2013), Paulo Lima (2011), Jason Bennett (2001, 2000) and the inaugural event champion Tater Porter (1999).
