HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS TO DONATE GAME PROCEEDS TO ASSIST HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF EFFORTS
Global Ambassadors of Goodwill to donate portion of gate from all games played during weekend of Jan 22-24, including game in Oklahoma City
(PHOENIX, January 15, 2010) – The World Famous Harlem Globetrotters will be donating a portion of gate proceeds from their games played during the weekend of January 22 through 24 – including the game at the Ford Center inOklahoma Cityon Sunday, January 24,at 3:00 p.m. – to UNICEF’s Earthquake Relief efforts for the country of Haiti, which was devastated this week by a massive earthquake.
The Ambassadors of Goodwill™ will also donate a portion of the proceeds from next weekend’s games being played in South Bend, Ind.; Wichita, Kan.; East Lansing, Mich.; Tulsa, Okla., (doubleheader); and Grand Rapids, Mich.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that have so ravaged Haiti, and our hearts are with them,” said Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. “On behalf of our players and fans around the world, we pledge to support them in any way possible during this unspeakably difficult time.”
